how to buy our meat
We stopped selling our lamb direct to consumers in 2019 due to a lack of a suitable abattoir & butcher. Prior to this, I had been involved with a group of producers who were also concerned about their lack of access to abattoirs in the local region. A lot of small abattoirs were closing down and there were very limited options for pig and poultry processing. So this group formed Murray Plains Meat Co-operative and so began the long process of building a micro-abattoir. I will share more of this story soon and a link to their website but the awesome news is that it is now licensed for poultry and operational! It should be licensed for red meat shortly, so we will have lamb, pork and chicken available for sale in 2025.

We enjoyed selling our meat and sharing our story with consumers at Farmers Markets and hope to return to some markets in 2025!

Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) is a model of food production and distribution that closely connects food eaters with food producers. It is a way for consumers to choose to know their farmer and to directly support them in their ventures. People will be able to become members of our CSA model and to select how much of our meat they would like to eat over the period of a year. This means that people will effectively buy a "share" of our projected lamb production for the year. This "share" will be paid for up-front or monthly via direct debit and delivered at a minimum, four times per year. This support will enable us to better plan our activities and improvements for the year ahead.
